Important Thespian News

Welcome back theatre students. The following information applies to all Thespians. Please make note:

• All Thespian meetings are mandatory.
• All Thespians must participate in every show, either on cast or crew.

Godwin Thespians are students who truly care about theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes.  Many participate in drama class in school, but some choose to show their enthusiasm by working on school productions.  In order to become a Thespian, students must maintain fifty hours of drama-related participation.  This can be done by working on productions or attending set calls and other drama events.  A Thespian does not necessarily have to be an actor; drama is made possible just as much by behind-the-scenes crew as it is by performers.  

Applications for Godwin Thespians are usually available in April, and students are informed of their induction to the Society in mid-May. There is no form to keep track of participation hours, but a part of the application does require a list of set calls, productions, and other drama events that students have worked on or participated in. Thespian applicants are selected each year based on their participation in theatre and dedication to the drama program. 

 

Whether a member of cast or crew, Godwin students who appreciate theatre can apply to become a member of the Godwin Troupe of the International Thespian Society.

Thespian Birthday Cake Form

Please support Godwin’s International Thespian Society by celebrating your child’s birthday or the birthday of a friend with a personalized cake!  Each Ukrop’s cake, decorated with “Happy Birthday” and your recipient’s name, will be delivered during that person’s lunch period.  The Thespians will present the cake with a personalized birthday song, causing as little embarrassment as possible!  This is the Thespian Society’s primary fundraiser of the year and we would greatly appreciate your support.
